Happenstance has 19 stalls and 3 lean-to's with one lean-to attached to the back of the horse barn. All the stalls are open to an outside run for each horse and we do not close the stall doors unless there is some nasty weather heading our way. Our horses seem to like being able to go in and out at will. We have one stall especially for incoming or sick horses to keep them segregated until it is safe to join the others. When winter comes each stall has its' own water heater so the horses always have warm water to drink.
We have a nice large heated tack room with saddle racks for each boarder with a corresponding cubby for storage. There is coffee available and the occasional snack. The bathroom is heated also and we pride ourselves on keeping the area clean.
The horses are fed three times a day - grain and hay morning and night and more hay for lunch. In the winter months, we put out round bales and try to have as many of the horses feeding on them as possible.
Stalls are cleaned every day without exception. We have dirt floors and add sawdust for bedding. We are lucky to have a dependable crew helping with stalls.
